On 30 September 2022, John West started a recall of On The Go – Indian Tuna Rice Salad 220g that has been mislabelled. As a result, the ingredients declaration and contents on the sleeve does not match with the product, which contains undeclared allergens soy, gluten and wheat. The products affected were supplied to ASDA only.
Based on our latest findings an extremely small number of products have been mislabelled. The safety of our products and the wellbeing of consumers is our highest priority. Therefore, we have recalled all products from the batches mentioned below.
The affected product would have been bought in ASDA stores on or after 19 August 2022. They can be identified on the back of the foil bowl with the letters “BAS.” The affected products with the letters “BAS” have a ‘best before’ date of June 2025. Products excluded from the recall read “CURRY.”

We are undertaking extensive investigations to identify the cause of the mislabelling.
In line with guidance from the Food Standards Agency, we have provided ASDA with posters for their affected stores to alert shoppers to the relevant products. Anyone who has purchased On The Go – Indian Tuna Rice Salad 220g product with code “BAS” on or after 19 August 2022 should not eat and return the product to the store where they bought it from for a full refund.
