Tuna Pizza Marinara

In the time it takes to order and deliver a takeaway pizza, you can make your own mouthwatering Marinara with a pot of succulent John West Tuna Steak and a ready-made pizza base. Alternatively, you can take a little longer and make it with your own homemade pizza base. Either way, this tuna pizza recipe that you prepare yourself is certainly a cut above the kind that arrives at your door in a cardboard box. It’s fresher tasting for a start and has plenty more goodness and flavour. So next time you’re in the mood for pizza, do it yourself with John West Tuna and enjoy it all the more.

Ingredients
- 1 John West No Drain Fridge Pot Tuna Steak with a little olive oil
- 1 quantity pizza dough (see recipe) or large ready-made pizza base1 tbs olive oil
- 1 clove of garlic, roughly sliced into 4 pieces1 tin chopped tomatoes or half jar passata
- 4 basil leaves, torn
- 1 medium/large ball of fresh mozzarella, water drained away, sliced thinly
- 1/2 a small red onion, finely sliced
Tuna Pizza Dough
- 1/2 tsp of fast-action yeast
- 300g of strong white bread flour
- 1 tbs of olive oil
- 1 tsp of salt
- 170ml of water

Tuna steak with a hint of olive oil. This mess-free natural tuna protein is the perfect way to spruce up your lunchtime or post-workout snack. In a no drain, fridge-friendly pot, this is natural protein made easy.
The Dough
Mix the dough in your bread machine according to the instructions. Roll and pat the dough into a square or rectangle approx 25 x 30cm. Make sure it will fit on a tray and in your oven! Lift the dough onto a lightly oiled baking tray, cover with a piece of oiled cling film and allow to prove in a warm place for about 15 minutes.
Sauce & Toppings
Meanwhile, make the sauce. Heat the oil in a pan and add the sliced garlic, fry very gently for 1 minute then add the tomatoes or passata.
Heat for about 5 minutes then remove the pieces of garlic and discard. If you use chopped tomatoes then you must mush these up. Then turn off the heat and add the torn basil.
When the dough is ready, spread the sauce over the base then arrange the mozzarella slices on top.
Add the onion and the tuna. Bake in the oven at 200°C / 180°C Fan Oven for approx 12 to 15 minutes.
